Four CoderCo alumni shipping inside AWS

Problem

AWS engineering teams hire continuously for cloud-native platform roles. The open market produced too many infrastructure generalists for the depth the role actually required. Several of the open seats also carried a DV clearance requirement, which raised the bar on both the technical screen and the security side.

What we did

• Surfaced four pre-vetted alumni from the CoderCo network with Linux fundamentals solid enough to pass a hands-on screen, plus the networking and AWS depth the role required
• Worked the DV clearance timeline through with hiring managers so the placement schedule aligned with the security review
• CVs and interview prep landed inside the hiring manager's first available slot
• Stayed close through the first month of each placement to surface any onboarding friction early

Outcome

• Four CoderCo alumni placed into AWS engineering teams
• Several of the placements landed on DV-cleared roles
• All four still in role at the time of publication
• Includes Abdirahman Jama, now a Senior Software Engineer at AWS
